Akkalkot Market Committee was established as a sub-market at Dudhani in Akkalkot taluka on 13 March 1954. Although Akkalkot Market Committee was getting a lot of income from the Dudhani sub-market, Akkalkot Market Committee purchased 18 acres of land for the Dudhani secondary market premises but did not provide any kind of facilities to the farmers and traders. All the farmers and traders in the Dudhani market area started a movement for the establishment of an independent market committee for milk and submitted a proposal to the state government and followed up accordingly. Accordingly, the government made an inquiry and decided to establish an independent market committee for milk. Accordingly, a notification was issued by the Hon'ble District Deputy Registrar, Cooperative Societies, Solapur on 14-8-2007 as an independent committee for milk. Accordingly, two separate markets were created, Akkalkot and Dudhani. Accordingly, Shri A.J. Bhilare, Assistant Registrar, Cooperative Societies, Solapur, was appointed as the administrator of the Dudhani Market Committee and the actual functioning of the Market Committee started from 21-8-2008.
